The manager of the API team and myself thought we could better expose and market the Getty Images API to potential developers. We undertook this site update as a side project and were able to productionize and localize it with some ingenuity and collaboration. The Getty API-Portal allows businesses to streamline processes cutting costs by automatically publishing relevant and up-to-date content based in the topics and themes one wants. Previously the API site was living within an antiquated CMS that made updates cumbersome. I was tasked with rebuilding and redesigning the entire website.

Their were a few primary objectives of the redesign. Firstly we wanted to better showcase a sample of images one can leverage utilizing our API. Next we wanted to introduce a mobile and social experience. Developers should be able to share and open the API portal on any device, as well their should be active easy to use forums or community pages. Lastly we wanted to greatly improve our documentation and organization so that it's easier for developers to start using and troubleshooting our API. By doing the aforementioned we hoped to increase overall API usage and reduce tickets.
